Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm, in 1995, by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as an architectural firm, but has since become an internationally-acclaimed, multi-disciplinary office with an equal emphasis on both architecture and design.
As the first Swedish office to have exhibited in the international section at the Venice Architecture Biennale, in 2004, they are also responsible for award-wining projects such as the Tind Prefab house collection for Fiskarhedenvillan, Widlund House private villa on Öland, Örsta Gallery building in Kumla, Sfera Building culture house in Kyoto and Nobis Hotel in Stockholm.
They design for such international companies as Arflex, Asplund, Blueair, Boffi, Capdell, Cappellini, Casamania, David design, Discipline, Dune NY, Fontana Arte, Kasthall, Living Divani, Offecct, Paola Lenti, Petite Friture, Swedese, Tacchini, Wästberg, among others.
For their work they have received the German Design Award (Gold and Silver) 2011 by the Federal Republic of Germany, Designer of the Year 2011 and Furniture of the Year 2012 by Elle Deco (Sweden), both Designer of the Year and Best Seating 2014 by Elle Décor Italia, and the Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best 2014, making them the first office to hold a Red Dot in five different product categories.
Marco Acerbis - Biography
Born in 1973, Marco Acerbis graduates from Politecnico di Milano in 1998. From 1997 to 2004 he lives in London where he works with Norman Foster’s Studio. Over these years he collaborates on the construction of an eight storey high Medical Research Building at the Imperial College Campus in London. He then becomes Project Architect for Capital City Academy, a 250 meter long High School for 1400 students which was recently opened by the British Prime Minister. His interests cover a wide range of subjects from architecture to product design, from graphic art to any kind of visual communication. He designs products for Alias, Colombo Design, Fontana Arte, Morphos, Acerbis International and he is currently designing the extension to their industrial estate. His products have been published on several magazines and in 2000 the ‘Standing’ shelving wins the ‘Young & Design Competition’ third prize at the Milan Furniture Fair. He lives and works in Bergamo.

Design Studio was set up in 1981 and based on an idea by Marco Cattaneo, Managing Director of the MOMO Group that is market leader in accessories for luxury cars. At the end of ’90s MOMODESIGN became an independent company. Paolo Cattaneo has been keeping up the family tradition by making the Design Studio a brand well-known worldwide for design, technology and Italian style.
All the products created by Momodesign incorporate the outcome of research carried out by the Centro Stile and are conceived as unique pieces. Luta Bettonica, designer and Giancarlo Leone, architect, started they activity in Mlano in 1996 mostly in architecture and in industrial design. West Bay Resort on Roatan island in Honduras is one of them. Conservative restoration of Casa Cirla in Milano and other restorations of interiors and furnitures come then along. Thy win the “Piazze botaniche, recupero di 5 piazze cittadine” competition with the project “Piazza Michelangelo” in Catania in 2007. They cooperate with Bal, Cini&Nils, Colombo Design and Viabizzuno. Luta Bettonica has been artistic director of Cini&Nils since 2003.
Andrea Castrignano - Biography
Andrea Castrignano was born in Milan in 1969. He completed his studies in the United States, where he made his first professional experiences as interior designer. It is the American culture to inspire him an extensive care for the quality of his services and a very close attention to the peculiar needs of each individual client. After coming back to Milan, in 1997 he opens his own Firm in the superb frame of Piazza del Liberty, a few steps away from Piazza Duomo. Combining professional integrity with a natural vocation towards human relationships, he soon becomes one of the most prominent and appreciated consultants of the real estate environment, acquiring a selected and prestigious clientele. Andrea is the first one to introduce the “turn key” philosophy in Italy with respect to the real estate business, following the client from the phase of selecting the piece of real estate to purchase, to the one relating to the restructuring, until the most detailed research of the finishing details, lighting and furniture.
Luca Colombo - Biography
He attended the courses of the Architecture Faculty at the Politecnico University of Milan. He has
collaborated with the office of the architect Carlo Bartoli. In 1996, he became the coordinator of the
Colombo Design designer team, with whom he develops projects – particularly the design of handles for doors and windows – assesses their feasibility and marketability.
His creations are the handles Taipan (1997), Talita (1999), Milla (2000), Olly (2007), Trama (2015), Alba (2016), all positively acquainted from the general and expertise public, confirming Luca Colombo as a key Designers of the Colombo Design products.
Luca Colombo is the designer also of the successful series Look (2004), Lulù (2008), BasiqQ (2013) and Forever (2014), designed with his usual determination and precision essential characteristics for architectural plan design.
Efrem Bonacina e Giovanni Moro
Efrem Bonacina e Giovanni Moro - Biography
Efrem Bonacina was born in Lecco in 1976, graduated in industrial design at Milan Polytechnic. Besides teaching in public and private universities, in 2007 he founded the Zoe3 in Lecco, a design, engineering and project managementcompany, working with Italian and foreign companies in various sectors, from furniture to complement of lighting projects, up to industrial machinery.
Giovanni Moro was born in Chiavenna in 1983, graduated in industrial design at Milan Polytechnic,collaborating with Zoe3 from 2009, dealing mainly with products and concepts design in furniture, lighting and sporting commodities. Zoe3 complements industrial design research in the field of sustainability, creative development in favor of protected categories and integration between design and automation.
The manufactured products have been publishedin some important magazines: Domus, Il Bagnooggi e domani, Design Diffusion News, Atelier Bagno, Progettare, Abitare, Box, Interni, L’Arca. Bonacina and Moro are members of the Colombo Design Research and Development Office , and for which in 2009 achieved an international workshop for young designers, concluded at The Triennaleof Milan. Konstantin Grcic - Biography
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England he studied Design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990. Since setting up his own design practice Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design in Munich in 1991 he has developed furniture, products and lighting for some of Europe´s leading design companies such as Agape, Authentics, ClassiCon, Driade, Flos, Iittala, Krups, Lamy, Magis, Moormann, Moroso, Muji, Whirlpool. Konstantin Grcic creates industrial products widely described as pared down, simple, minimalist. What sets him apart from the minimalsm in fashionalble currency today is that he defines function in human terms, combining maximum formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humor.
Jean Marie Massaud
Jean Marie Massaud - Biography
Graduated from the ENSCI in 1990, Jean-Marie Massaud has run a quest for synthesis, reduction and lightness since his first intuitions. He has been working all kind of design fields, from furniture to industrial product and equipment. In 2000, he founds Studio Massaud and expands his expertise to architecture and brand development.
He collaborates with various brands such as B&B Italia, Axor Hansgrohe, Colombo Design, Dior, Poltrona Frau, Lancôme or Renault. Denying trend and fashion, Jean Marie prefers questioning the existing, working out on progress and eventually proposing answers to contemporary stakes. It is this symbiosis between Man, his creations and his natural environment, that Jean Marie Massaud strives to reach, as a catalyst to innovation, as an economic model and as a life project. Since his first intuitions, Jean-Marie Massaud has run a quest for synthesis.
His work, toward reduction and lightness, has always claimed a symbolic formalization as a way to universality and timelessness. Nowadays, he presents more global life projects through architecture, development strategies, goods and services. Francesco Lucchese - Biography
Born in the province of Messina, he graduated in architecture at the milan polytechnic college in 1985. His folding chair design, was awarded 1st prize at the competition for collective spaces organised by adi and the industrial group Busnelli.
Between 1989 and 1991 he was assistant lecturer of industrial design at the school of fine arts of Brera. he has designed collections of lamps for candle, Fabbian, Foscarini, Italiana Luce, Luxo, Quatrifolio, Venini. In the field of furniture design for living room areas and bathrooms, he has worked for di liddo & perego, inda, rapsel, swan.
The experience gained with murano glass had a deep effect on him and gave rise to a collection of vases for nason & moretti. With his work team he is today also involved in corporate identity as well as trademark and product communication projects.
Hasuike Makio - Biography
Makio Hasuike, born in Tokyo in 1938 and of Japanese nationality, earned his degree at the “University of Arts of Tokyo” in 1962. He has been active in Milan, Italy, since 1963 as designer in a great number of sectors, cooperating with Italian and European firms of major importance. In 1982 he created his own company in Fizzonasco (Milan) specialised in fashion bags and articles for office use recognisable by the brand name MHWay.
The company is considered one of the most innovative of the sector, gaining recognition and appreciation from a vast public. An attentive observer of changes in consume trends and in quality of life, during his thirty years old activity he received many prices: he won the “Compasso d’Oro” in 1979 with “Osa” electrical appliances as well as fifteen awards; he was awarded prizes during seven editions of the International Competition for Industrial Design held in Ljubliana, and during four editions of the Design Plus held in Frankfurt as well as four editions during the Design Innovationen of Essen.

Michele De Lucchi
Michele De Lucchi - Biography
Born in 1951. Michele De Lucchi has been engaged with projects, industrial design and hand-crafted design products ever since. During the Radical Design period he was a leader in the Cavart group. He was a co-founder of Memphis, a movement that developed new trends in design of the eighties.
In 1990 he created “Produzione Privata”, a small company dedicated to experimental products, where mass distribution was not involved.
De Lucchi Studio has been involved in important projects in Japan, Germany and Italy, working for Artemide, Kartell, Mandarina Duck, Pelikan, Deutsche Bank, Conrad, Deutsche Bundesbahn, Matsushita, Rosenthal, Decaux, just to mention a few names. Consultant to Olivetti, Michele De Lucchi is in charge for the design of their products, including for equipments for banks and office furniture. He has been teaching in a number of schools and Universities, such as Domus Academy in Milan, The Faculty of Architecture in Palermo and Milan, the Cranbrook University in Detroit.
He received international awards, including the “Gute Industrieform”, “Deutsche Auswahl” and “Rote Punkt für hohe und höchste Design Qualität” in Germany, “Good Design” in Japan, thel “Compasso d’Oro” and the “Premio Smau” in Italy. He published many articles on selected Italian and international magazines and newspapers.
Jasper Morrison - Biography
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959 and graduated in Design at Kingston Polytechnic Design School, London and at The Royal College of Art for Post Graduated studies. In 1984 he studied at Berlin’s HdK on a scholarship.
He receives numerous awards, among which several IF Awards and Design Plus Awards, a selection for Itali’s Compasso D’Oro and, in 1992, three awards for a series of door handles designed for FSB: the Bundespreis Product Design; the Industrie Forum “Top Ten” Award and the Nord Rhein Westfalen Design Zentrum Prize.
In 1997 he was awarded the IF Transportation Design Prize and the Ecology Award with a vehicle projected for the Hannoversche Verkehrsbetrieb (Hannover Transportation Authority) for the Expo 2000.
In 1997 he holds a conference at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London. Some of his works are in the permanent collections of several museums, including the New York MOMA, where the chair “Lima” (produced by Cappellini) is exposed.

Exciting, fluid, functional. This is the language that distinguishes Marco Piva’s architectural creations, product design and interior design. The eort in material research and technology, the value of dierentiation,the design innovation, lead the establishment of Studiodada Associates, whose production becomes one of the most representative of the period of Radical Design. In the ’80s opens Studio Marco Piva, whose work ranges from large projects to architectural interior design, to industrial design. A traveller and a designer, an innovator who is educated in rational approaches, Marco Piva studies and creates design solutions which are pervaded by stylistic freedom and compositional sobriety. In Japan, in Osaka, the Studio has participated in the design and construction of the innovative complex Next 21, has also made the Laguna Palace in Mestre, the Port Palace in Monte Carlo, the Hotel Mirage in Kazan, the Una Hotel in Boulogne , the T Hotel in Cagliari, The Move Hotel in Mogliano Veneto and the multifunctional complex Le Terrazze in Treviso. Valentina Del Ciotto was born in 1982 in Chieti. She studied at the Institute of Arts and then she graduated with a degree in Industrial Design at Facoltà di Architetura in Ascoli Piceno, in 2005 she moved to Milan. Simone Spalvieri was born in 1982 in Tolentino. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Design at Facoltà di Architetura in Ascoli Piceno and then at Politecnico di Milano.
In 2009 they founded Spalvieri/Del Ciotto design studio in Milan, a place where thoughts and research come together. Main features of their work are simplicity and functionality but, at the same time, there is a big emotional factor. They collaborate with Italian and international companies, such as Areaplus, Greenwitch, Lexon, Segno, Trabo. They have won international design competitions, including the “Colombo Design calls for creativity” in 2009.

Piet Billekens - Biography
Born in Tilburg (Holland) in 1966, after graduating in 1989 at the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven, he moved to Milan and started working at the Design Studio of Claudio Salocchi, who, later on, managed to make him go on a training course at the company Fucina (Forte dei Marmi), producer of marble tables designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for the company Skipper and are still marketed to these days by Cappellini. Since then, his passion for marbles. In 2001 the desire to face new challenges gave him the push to set up his own company: Foresee Design (firstname.lastname@example.org).
He liked the name as he believes that ‘foreseeing’ is one of the skills you need in order to create products that have a long-lasting appeal. On the basis of his long experience in the bathroom sector, he participated as an expert in the CEN workgroup engaged in the formulation of the new European standards for shower enclosures. He has also been a guest lecturer on bathroom design at “Politecnico” University in Milan and at “La Sapienza” University in Rome. Among awards and special recognitions can be mentioned: a selection for the ADI-ILPO competition in 1990, three selections for the ADI-Design Index (in 2001 and in 2003) and the Design plus award at ISH Frankfurt in 2003.
Studio Kairos - Biography
The Kairos studio, founded in 1980 by Massimo Bonetti, Giuseppe Manente and Abramo Mion, focuses on the building, industrial design and furniture fields. The studio has created designs for: B&B Italia, B&B Office, Colombo Design, Dada, Ellebi, Nordica, Dolomite, Molteni and C., the City of Venice, Murakoshi Japan, Samsonite Italia, Fincantieri S.p.A.
In 1984, the Kairos studio won the Golden Compass and “Furnishing of the Year” prize from the Schöner Wohnen magazine, with its “Sisamo” closet for B&B Italia. In 1987, the studio was chosen for another Golden Compass for its Dolomite ski boot, for “Futura” kitchen produced by Dada-Molteni, as well as for “Abak”, designed for B&B Office in 1989.
Tomo Kimura - Biography
Tomo Kimura was born in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, in 1975. After graduating in Human Sciences in Japan at Sapporo Gakuin University in 1999, he decided to spend some time in Italy. In 2002 he got his diploma in Interior Design from Accademia Cappiello in Firenze. Soon after, he started to cooperate with various studios of that city. Realizing that his primary interest was Product Design, he decided to further specialize attending IED, first in Roma, then in Torino, getting his diploma in 2009 and becoming a tutor for a year.
He is currently based in Torino, where he cooperates with advertising and design studios, develops his own projects and is dealing with restoration of modern antiques objects. He aims to become a craftsman.
Paolo Pininfarina - Biography
The company was set up in 1930 and, Pininfarina’s business was based on constructing special bodywork designs, made in one-off pieces or as part of a very limited series. After the end of the Second World War, with the introduction of mass production, Pininfarina knew exactly what was needed to expand, resulting in the introduction of the latest structures and technological means.
Today, Pininfarina is an industrial group with more than 2,700 employees, a production level of approximately 50,000 units per year and a turnover of around 1,300 billion lira. The Chairman of the Group is Cavaliere Del Lavoro Sergio Pininfarina, the second member of the family to receive the Italian Compasso d’Oro Award for his career.
In 1986, the Pininfarina Group opened a new associated concern, Pininfarina Extra, run by Paolo Pininfarina, expressly dedicated to Product Design, which carries out research into the various fields of industrial design without ever losing sight of its cultural and industrial roots. It is precisely from this long experience that the origins of two series of products “Daytona” and “Tank”, designed for Colombo Design, derive.
Alberto Meda - Biography
Alberto Meda was born in 1945 in Lenno Tremezzina, a small town in the province of Como. In 1969 he received a degree in mechanical engineering from Milan’s Polytechnic. After four years at Magneti Marelli as an assistant in the production department, he became the head of the technical department at Kartell in 1973, where he was in charge of overseeing all designs and research for technological developments in polyurethane foam. In 1979 he began to work as a freelance designer and product engineering consultant.
He worked with the Alfa Romeo Auto design division for four years. He currently provides designs to: Alias, Colombo Design, Italtel Telematica, Luceplan. He won the Golden Compass in 1987 for the design sections of the book entitled “La materia dell’invenzione” by Ezio Manzini (Arcadia) and in 1989 with his “Lola” lamp for Luceplan. His designs have been shown in Tokyo (1990, one-man show), Osaka (1991) and Milan (Triennale, 1992). He currently lives and works in Milan, where he is a professor at Domus Academy.
Architettura Laboratorio - Biography
Architettura Laboratorio is organized in the form of a design laboratory in Milan, in which different personalities and cultures may be found. From 1992, it has been working in the field of design, carrying out consulting activities for important Italien companies. Gianluigi Landoni - Biography
He graduated at Polytechnic of Milan, in 1983 he participated to the foundation of “Amalgama”, a high tech design group.
He works for architectural and industrial design studios as designer and consultant for important italian and foreign “design oriented” companies.
His products are published on various furnishing magazines. Landoni is also a teacher, his works are exhibited receiving different prizes (Compasso d’Oro 1998) and was selected in european concourses (iF Product Design Award 1999). For Colombo Design he designed the GALLERY collection.
Ambrogio Rossari - Biography
Ambrogio Rossari, born in 1943 in Salò, graduated in 1966 from the School of Industrial Design in Venice. Pozzi’s “Piemonte” collection is one of the first projects he designed. He received a Master’s in Product Designfrom the ITT Institute of Design in Chicago. After returning to Italy, he worked for Studio Bonetto.
In 1971 he became a freelance designer, while in 1983 he founded the Rossari & Associati studio. He has designed for many companies in Italy and abroad, including Accornero,Appiani, Bilumen, Carrara & Matta, Cesame, Colombo Design, Dado Ceramica, Duratex, Duker, Eschenbach, Erre.Ci.Gi., Fastigi, F.lli Guzzini, F.lli Frattini, Gedy, IKEA, Inda, Lave Bath, Olivari, OMS, Philips, Pozzi, Industrie Pirelli, Rapsel, Saniplast, Technova, Tropical and Vorberg. He designed fair booths and exhibit areas for Cristallerie Livellara, Italtrade, Keravem, NCR, and Valdadige and also designed the exhibit “The Italian Bath” at ICE of Los Angeles. He has been an ADI Golden Compass finalist several times: in 1987 for the System collection by Cesame, in 1989 for the “Particolari” table set by F.lli Guzzini, and in 1991 for the “Particolari” napkin rings and dishes by F.lli Guzzini, the “Tempra” single-lever mixing unit by F.lli Frattini, and for the “Logic” shower stall by 2S Cesana.

Birgit Lohmann Designboom - Biography
Born in Hamburg, Germany, Birgit Lohmann studied industrial design in Florence before moving to Milan, where she has lived and worked, since 1987. For 20 years she practiced as a designer and product development manager for a number of italian architects and master designers, including Achille Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti, Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari and Renzo Piano. She has also worked as a design historian for justice departments and international auction houses. As a researcher and lecturer, Birgit Lohmann has conducted seminars on industrial design at a number of prestigious international universities. In 1999 she co-founded designboom, where she is currently editor-in-chief, head of educational programming and curator for international exhibitions.

Di Blasi Associati - Biography
Ottavio Di Blasi, born in Milan in 1954, received his degree in architecture in his birthplace, where he later founded the Di Blasi Associati studio. Between 1979 and 1989 he worked closely with Renzo Piano on several projects, including the San Nicola stadium in Bari.
His own professional base is in Milan, where he divides his time between architecture and industrial design. He is a professor of Technological Studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Milan’s Polytechnic, and he also teaches at the Natural Structures Research Center of the European Institute of Design.
He has created designs for: AFV Beltrami, B&B Italia, Colombo Design, IPAE, TAD Italia, Terry Plastic. He has also worked for the Archbishop’s curia in Bari, Finarvedi, Matarrese S.p.A., the Government of Malta, the University of Bari and Milan’s Polytechnic.
Giulio Ripamonti - Biography

Giulio Ripamonti was born in Lecco in 1952. He collaborated since 1972 with Norbert Linke(Hochschule fur Gestaltung Of Ulm) attending to “Product Design” in the field of the appliances, mechanics of precision (Philco, Weco Optical, Silma/Bosch, S.T.D. Dupont) until 1976 when he graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. In 1977 he started his collaboration with Carlo Bartoli attending to design of furniture of series, building, urban furniture and internal architecture for office, banks and fair stages. He designed with Carlo Bartoli the modular furniture “Open” and “Mix” for Tisettanta, kitchens “Knock Down”, “990” and the modular furniture “Odeon” for Arc Linea, furniture for office “Set 2” for Oscam, the kitchen “Brera” for Ernestomeda and “Icaro” for Varenna, furniture complements for Confalonieri. Subsequently with Carlo Bartoli and until 2009: chairs “Storm” and “Meet-Me”, the sofa “Flores”, tables “Yoga” for Segis and “Vanessa” for Bonaldo, the series “Formae” and the doorhandle “Gaia” for Colombo Design. He also took care of offices, show-room and fair stages for Segis and Colombo Design. He is present in the exhibition “Dal cucchiaio alla città” (meeting ICSID, Triennale di Milano), in the manifestation “Cucina in vetrina” at Eurocucina, in 1989 “Annual of Furniture Designer” dedicated to him a biography in the panorama “European Masters”. In the volume “Carlo Bartoli – I progettisti italiani”, the consolidated collaboration between the two architects is underlined. He collaborated with Abet laminate, Arc Linea, Agrati, Bonaldo, Bonacina, Confalonieri, Colombo Design, Con&Con, Deltacalor, Ernestomeda, Kristalia, Matteo Grassi, Lualdi porte, Oscam, Rivolta, Rossi di Albizzate, Sagsa, Segis, Tisettanta, Varenna – Poliform, Volvo, Ycami.
