Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm, in 1995, by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as an architectural firm, but has since become an internationally-acclaimed, multi-disciplinary office with an equal emphasis on both architecture and design.
As the first Swedish office to have exhibited in the international section at the Venice Architecture Biennale, in 2004, they are also responsible for award-wining projects such as the Tind Prefab house collection for Fiskarhedenvillan, Widlund House private villa on Öland, Örsta Gallery building in Kumla, Sfera Building culture house in Kyoto and Nobis Hotel in Stockholm.
They design for such international companies as Arflex, Asplund, Blueair, Boffi, Capdell, Cappellini, Casamania, David design, Discipline, Dune NY, Fontana Arte, Kasthall, Living Divani, Offecct, Paola Lenti, Petite Friture, Swedese, Tacchini, Wästberg, among others.
For their work they have received the German Design Award (Gold and Silver) 2011 by the Federal Republic of Germany, Designer of the Year 2011 and Furniture of the Year 2012 by Elle Deco (Sweden), both Designer of the Year and Best Seating 2014 by Elle Décor Italia, and the Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best 2014, making them the first office to hold a Red Dot in five different product categories.
Marco Acerbis - Biography
Born in 1973 Marco Acerbis graduates in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1998. From 1997 to 2004 he lives in London where he works with Lord Norman Foster’s Studio. Over these years he collaborates on the construction of an eight storey high Medical Research Building at the Imperial College Campus in London. He then becomes Project Architect for Capital City Academy, a 250 meter long High School building for 1400 students which was opened by Tony Blair. He sets up his own practice in Italy in 2004. Fascinated by designing at very different scales he quickly moves on to explore with a constant cross over of skills, ideas, tools and technologies all sorts of subjects to achieve a globally designed space. The Vertigo floor lamp, designed for Fontana Arte in 2004, was immediately acknowledged as a best seller and an icon of our time and is now included in Vitra Design Museum permanent collection. Prius door handle designed for Colombo Design wins a Special Mention at XXI Compasso d’Oro ADI. Kloe Armchair designed for Desalto wins the Red Dot Design Award 2009. Wave tap collection designed for IB Rubinetterie wins the Red Dot Design Award 2015 and the Good Design Award Chicago Athenaeum in 2013. His interest for contemporary issues takes him to be directly involved in sustainable architecture with the design and construction management of Polins which is certified CasaClima Class A+, the best building standard.

Design Studio was set up in 1981 and based on an idea by Marco Cattaneo, Managing Director of the MOMO Group that is market leader in accessories for luxury cars. At the end of ’90s MOMODESIGN became an independent company. Carlo Bartoli exhibited his work in Italy and abroad: at the Triennale Design Museum in Milano, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Stadt Museum in Cologne, as well as in New York, Prague, Hong Kong, Athens and Buenos Aires. The Gaia armchair is included in the design collection at the MOMA in New York and the Triennale Design Museum in Milano. Luta Bettonica designer and architect Giancarlo Leone opened the Studio Bettonica Leone in Milan in 1996. Andrea Castrignano - Biography
Andrea Castrignano is an interior designer who turned tailor-made into his own professional philosophy. Indefatigable importer of the anglo-saxon culture, absorbed during his professional career, he combines since 1997 turnkey design and all round consulting services. His interior projects go from private to retail.
He is the author and talent of “Cambio Casa, Cambio Vita!” (“Change your house, change your life!”), a docu-reality show broadcasted on the Italian channel La5 since 2011, currently at its seventh edition, and of “Aiuto! Arrivano gli ospiti…” (“Help! The guests are coming…”), a new program on air from November 2017. He is the author of three books dedicated to the world of interior design, and also created the first Italian interior design blog: a multimedia window that describes, using images and videos, his vision of design, ranging from construction sites and making of, to renovations and products.
He collaborates with many brands in the world of interior design and designs exclusive collections that he personally follows from creation to production.
Luca Colombo - Biography
He attended the courses of the Architecture Faculty at the Politecnico University of Milan. He has
collaborated with the office of the architect Carlo Bartoli. In 1996, he became the coordinator of the
Colombo Design designer team, with whom he develops projects – particularly the design of handles for doors and windows – assesses their feasibility and marketability.
His creations are the handles Taipan (1997), Talita (1999), Milla (2000), Olly (2007), Trama (2015), Alba (2016), all positively acquainted from the general and expertise public, confirming Luca Colombo as a key Designers of the Colombo Design products.
Luca Colombo is the designer also of the successful series Look (2004), Lulù (2008), BasiqQ (2013) and Forever (2014), designed with his usual determination and precision essential characteristics for architectural plan design.
Efrem Bonacina e Giovanni Moro
Efrem Bonacina e Giovanni Moro - Biography
Efrem Bonacina was born in Lecco in 1976, graduated in industrial design at Milan Polytechnic. Besides teaching in public and private universities, in 2007 he founded the Zoe3 in Lecco, a design, engineering and project managementcompany, working with Italian and foreign companies in various sectors, from furniture to complement of lighting projects, up to industrial machinery.
Giovanni Moro was born in Chiavenna in 1983, graduated in industrial design at Milan Polytechnic,collaborating with Zoe3 from 2009, dealing mainly with products and concepts design in furniture, lighting and sporting commodities. Zoe3 complements industrial design research in the field of sustainability, creative development in favor of protected categories and integration between design and automation.
The manufactured products have been publishedin some important magazines: Domus, Il Bagnooggi e domani, Design Diffusion News, Atelier Bagno, Progettare, Abitare, Box, Interni, L’Arca. Bonacina and Moro are members of the Colombo Design Research and Development Office , and for which in 2009 achieved an international workshop for young designers, concluded at The Triennaleof Milan. Konstantin Grcic - Biography
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England, he studied Design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990. Since setting up his own design practice Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design in Munich in 1991 he has developed furniture, products and lighting for some of Europe´s leading design companies such as Agape, Authentics, Cassina, ClassiCon, Driade, Flos, Flötotto, Laufen, Magis, Mattiazzi, Muji, Nespresso, Plank, Rado and Vitra Whirlpool.
Solo exhibitions of his work have been shown at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam, 2006), Haus der Kunst (Munich, 2006), The Art Institute of Chicago (2009), Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein, 2014), Die Neue Sammlung (Munich, 2015) and Kunsthalle Bielefeld (2016).
Konstantin Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humor. Each of his products is characterized by a careful research into the history of design and architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for pared-down pieces, Grcic is often called a minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity.
Jean-Marie Massaud - Biography
Since the beginning of his career (as 1990 graduate of Paris’ ENSCI-Les Ateliers, Paris Design Institute), Jean-Marie Massaud has been working on an extensive range of works, stretching from architecture to objects, from one-off project to serial ones, from macro environment down to micro contexts. Major brands such as Air France, Axor, Cassina, PoltronaFrau, MDF Italia or Toyota have solicited his ability to mix comfort and elegance, zeitgeist and heritage, generosity and distinction.

Francesco Lucchese - Biography
Francesco Lucchese, architect and designer, is the founder of Lucchesedesign studio, a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers. He coordinates brand identity projects, events, exhibitions and works on marketing strategies (Dupont, Kodak).
The products for international and Italian companies receive prizes like Design Plus and Red Dot Design Award (Toto Indonesia, Villeroy&Boch, Venini, Panasonic, Antrax, Mosaico+, Swan, Fir Italia).

Hasuike Makio - Biography
Makio Hasuike, born in Tokyo in 1938, graduated at the “University of Arts of Tokyo” in 1962. He has been active in Italy, since 1963. In 1968 he set up his own design studio in Milan, one of the first in Italy. In 1982 he creates MHWay, an experimental brand of innovative products such as bags and accessories. The design company is still active today. In over 50 years he has been collaborating with Italian and international companies, contributing to their success through innovative solutions in terms of appearance and contents. MakioHasuike&Co studio works in various fields: from high tech tools to work and spare time products, from household appliances to furniture, from branding to exhibition design and architecture. Its projects obtained prestigious awards and some are displayed in permanent exhibitions like the MoMA of New York. Makio Hasuike is one of the members of the founding committee of the Master in Strategic Design at the Polytechnic of Milan. In 2016 he receives the Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement Award.

Michele De Lucchi
Michele De Lucchi - Biography
Born in 1951. Michele De Lucchi has been engaged with projects, industrial design and hand-crafted design products ever since. During the Radical Design period he was a leader in the Cavart group. He was a co-founder of Memphis, a movement that developed new trends in design of the eighties.
In 1990 he created “Produzione Privata”, a small company dedicated to experimental products, where mass distribution was not involved.
De Lucchi Studio has been involved in important projects in Japan, Germany and Italy, working for Artemide, Kartell, Mandarina Duck, Pelikan, Deutsche Bank, Conrad, Deutsche Bundesbahn, Matsushita, Rosenthal, Decaux, just to mention a few names. Consultant to Olivetti, Michele De Lucchi is in charge for the design of their products, including for equipments for banks and office furniture. He has been teaching in a number of schools and Universities, such as Domus Academy in Milan, The Faculty of Architecture in Palermo and Milan, the Cranbrook University in Detroit.
He received international awards, including the “Gute Industrieform”, “Deutsche Auswahl” and “Rote Punkt für hohe und höchste Design Qualität” in Germany, “Good Design” in Japan, thel “Compasso d’Oro” and the “Premio Smau” in Italy. He published many articles on selected Italian and international magazines and newspapers.
Jasper Morrison - Biography
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959, and graduated in Design from Kingston Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. In 1984 he studied at Berlin’s HdK on a scholarship. In 1986 he set up his Office for Design in London.
Today Jasper Morrison Ltd has offices in London, Paris and Tokyo. He designs furniture, lighting, electrical products, watches and shoes, and occasionally interiors, for clients such as Vitra, Cappellini, Flos, Marsotto, Punkt, Camper and Muji.
Jasper Morrison’s books include Super Normal, A Book of Things and most recently The Hard Life, all published by Lars Müller. His first retrospective, Thingness, opened at the Grand-Hornu in Belgium in 2015.

Simone Spalvieri and Valentina Del Ciotto both born in 1982, they met in 2003, during their BA in Product Design. They became a couple in life and then at work and are now a design duo. Spalvieri & Del Ciotto design studio is a meeting place for ideas, research and experimentation. Their work is characterized by formal, functional simplicity coupled with an intense emotional component, based on the idea that every design object should reflect our experience and be something that is worth passing down to future generations, containing and preserving a piece of our history.
In 2013 they won the first prize of the “Top Young Industrial Designers Prize”, awarded by Massimo Vignelli with an exhibition at the Italian Cultural institute of New York.

Pio and Tito are brothers, they were born in Venice in 1973 and 1971. In Venice they were graduated in Architecture at the IUAV, the University Institute of Architecture of Venice, in 1998.
They founded in 1996 the professional studio PIO&TITOTOSO. The Studio works in building projects in different countries. In the Industrial design they work with the most qualified companies: Artemide, Foscarini, Venini, Vistosi, Leucos, for lighting and Alessi, Pedrali, Segis, Fratelli Guzzini, Colombo design, Metalco, Rossi di Albizzate, Frighetto, Fly Line for furniture. They also plan stands, exhibitions, shops, offices and warehouses for several companies, working on the image and the graphics.

Piet Billekens - Biography
Born in 1966, Tilburg, Netherlands. Graduated with honors in 1989 at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. From 1990 responsible for research and development in Cesana, producer of shower enclosures and shower complements. In 2001 he opens his studio called Foresee Design in Milan working for a lot of companies in Italy and abroad as industrial designer, interior designer and design consultant. He takes part as expert member in the bath field at the CEN working party to carry out the new European regulation about shower enclosures.

The Kairos studio, founded in 1980 by Massimo Bonetti, Giuseppe Manente and Abramo Mion, focuses on the building, industrial design and furniture fields. The studio has created designs for: B&B Italia, B&B Office, Colombo Design, Dada, Ellebi, Nordica, Dolomite, Molteni and C., the City of Venice, Murakoshi Japan, Samsonite Italia, Fincantieri S.p.A.
In 1984, the Kairos studio won the Golden Compass and “Furnishing of the Year” prize from the Schöner Wohnen magazine, with its “Sisamo” closet for B&B Italia. In 1987, the studio was chosen for another Golden Compass for its Dolomite ski boot, for “Futura” kitchen produced by Dada-Molteni, as well as for “Abak”, designed for B&B Office in 1989.
Tomo Kimura - Biography
Tomo Kimura was born in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, in 1975. After graduating in Human Sciences in Japan at Sapporo Gakuin University in 1999, he decided to spend some time in Italy. In 2002 he got his diploma in Interior Design from Accademia Cappiello in Firenze. Soon after, he started to cooperate with various studios of that city. Realizing that his primary interest was Product Design, he decided to further specialize attending IED, first in Roma, then in Torino, getting his diploma in 2009 and becoming a tutor for a year.
He is currently based in Torino, where he cooperates with advertising and design studios, develops his own projects and is dealing with restoration of modern antiques objects. He aims to become a craftsman.
Paolo Pininfarina - Biography
The company was set up in 1930 and, Pininfarina’s business was based on constructing special bodywork designs, made in one-off pieces or as part of a very limited series. After the end of the Second World War, with the introduction of mass production, Pininfarina knew exactly what was needed to expand, resulting in the introduction of the latest structures and technological means.
Today, Pininfarina is an industrial group with more than 2,700 employees, a production level of approximately 50,000 units per year and a turnover of around 1,300 billion lira. The Chairman of the Group is Cavaliere Del Lavoro Sergio Pininfarina, the second member of the family to receive the Italian Compasso d’Oro Award for his career.
In 1986, the Pininfarina Group opened a new associated concern, Pininfarina Extra, run by Paolo Pininfarina, expressly dedicated to Product Design, which carries out research into the various fields of industrial design without ever losing sight of its cultural and industrial roots. It is precisely from this long experience that the origins of two series of products “Daytona” and “Tank”, designed for Colombo Design, derive.

He graduated at Polytechnic of Milan, in 1983 he participated to the foundation of “Amalgama”, a high tech design group.
He works for architectural and industrial design studios as designer and consultant for important italian and foreign “design oriented” companies.
His products are published on various furnishing magazines. Landoni is also a teacher, his works are exhibited receiving different prizes (Compasso d’Oro 1998) and was selected in european concourses (iF Product Design Award 1999). For Colombo Design he designed the GALLERY collection.
Ambrogio Rossari - Biography
Ambrogio Rossari, born in 1943 in Salò, graduated in 1966 from the School of Industrial Design in Venice. Pozzi’s “Piemonte” collection is one of the first projects he designed. He received a Master’s in Product Designfrom the ITT Institute of Design in Chicago. After returning to Italy, he worked for Studio Bonetto.
In 1971 he became a freelance designer, while in 1983 he founded the Rossari & Associati studio. He has designed for many companies in Italy and abroad, including Accornero,Appiani, Bilumen, Carrara & Matta, Cesame, Colombo Design, Dado Ceramica, Duratex, Duker, Eschenbach, Erre.Ci.Gi., Fastigi, F.lli Guzzini, F.lli Frattini, Gedy, IKEA, Inda, Lave Bath, Olivari, OMS, Philips, Pozzi, Industrie Pirelli, Rapsel, Saniplast, Technova, Tropical and Vorberg. He designed fair booths and exhibit areas for Cristallerie Livellara, Italtrade, Keravem, NCR, and Valdadige and also designed the exhibit “The Italian Bath” at ICE of Los Angeles. He has been an ADI Golden Compass finalist several times: in 1987 for the System collection by Cesame, in 1989 for the “Particolari” table set by F.lli Guzzini, and in 1991 for the “Particolari” napkin rings and dishes by F.lli Guzzini, the “Tempra” single-lever mixing unit by F.lli Frattini, and for the “Logic” shower cabinet by 2S Cesana. He has been President of ADI Lombardy from 2010 up to 2017. He has been juror in italian and international design competition and speaker in Design meetings in Italy and around the world.

Birgit Lohmann Designboom - Biography
Born in Hamburg, Germany, Birgit Lohmann studied industrial design in Florence before moving to Milan, where she has lived and worked, since 1987. For 20 years she practiced as a designer and product development manager for a number of italian architects and master designers, including Achille Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti, Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari and Renzo Piano. She has also worked as a design historian for justice departments and international auction houses. As a researcher and lecturer, Birgit Lohmann has conducted seminars on industrial design at a number of prestigious international universities. In 1999 she co-founded designboom, where she is currently editor-in-chief, head of educational programming and curator for international exhibitions.
Di Blasi Associati
Di Blasi Associati - Biography
Ottavio Di Blasi, born in Milan in 1954, received his degree in architecture in his birthplace, where he later founded the Di Blasi Associati studio. Between 1979 and 1989 he worked closely with Renzo Piano on several projects, including the San Nicola stadium in Bari.
His own professional base is in Milan, where he divides his time between architecture and industrial design. He is a professor of Technological Studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Milan’s Polytechnic, and he also teaches at the Natural Structures Research Center of the European Institute of Design.
He has created designs for: AFV Beltrami, B&B Italia, Colombo Design, IPAE, TAD Italia, Terry Plastic. He has also worked for the Archbishop’s curia in Bari, Finarvedi, Matarrese S.p.A., the Government of Malta, the University of Bari and Milan’s Polytechnic.
Giulio Ripamonti - Biography
1952 – 2013
Giulio Ripamonti was born in Lecco in 1952. He collaborated since 1972 with Norbert Linke(Hochschule fur Gestaltung Of Ulm) attending to “Product Design” in the field of the appliances, mechanics of precision (Philco, Weco Optical, Silma/Bosch, S.T.D. Dupont) until 1976 when he graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. In 1977 he started his collaboration with Carlo Bartoli attending to design of furniture of series, building, urban furniture and internal architecture for office, banks and fair stages. He designed with Carlo Bartoli the modular furniture “Open” and “Mix” for Tisettanta, kitchens “Knock Down”, “990” and the modular furniture “Odeon” for Arc Linea, furniture for office “Set 2” for Oscam, the kitchen “Brera” for Ernestomeda and “Icaro” for Varenna, furniture complements for Confalonieri. Subsequently with Carlo Bartoli and until 2009: chairs “Storm” and “Meet-Me”, the sofa “Flores”, tables “Yoga” for Segis and “Vanessa” for Bonaldo, the series “Formae” and the doorhandle “Gaia” for Colombo Design. He also took care of offices, show-room and fair stages for Segis and Colombo Design. He is present in the exhibition “Dal cucchiaio alla città” (meeting ICSID, Triennale di Milano), in the manifestation “Cucina in vetrina” at Eurocucina, in 1989 “Annual of Furniture Designer” dedicated to him a biography in the panorama “European Masters”. In the volume “Carlo Bartoli – I progettisti italiani”, the consolidated collaboration between the two architects is underlined. He collaborated with Abet laminate, Arc Linea, Agrati, Bonaldo, Bonacina, Confalonieri, Colombo Design, Con&Con, Deltacalor, Ernestomeda, Kristalia, Matteo Grassi, Lualdi porte, Oscam, Rivolta, Rossi di Albizzate, Sagsa, Segis, Tisettanta, Varenna – Poliform, Volvo, Ycami.
